D#3, HW#5 - Audience Analysis

The average voting adult age ranges anywhere from 18 to 65. (need to verify this point and document the source.) Educational backgrounds for the majority of these adults can be attributed to high school graduates, college students, or working adults. Technical expertise for adults regarding voting knowledge is wide ranging due to educational and work experience backgrounds. Several reports over the last few years show that young adults are stepping up to the polls to vote. This is primarily due to “information” being distributed effectively using a wide base of technology (i.e. email, web-sites, iPods, etc.) Adult turnout at the polls has dropped over the last decade and this is perhaps due to lack of “readily accessible” information being distributed effectively to all adults. Perhaps if communication regarding voting was shared on all levels possible, this would ensure that all American adults were receiving the information simultaneously and in a timely manner. Adults will be able to be to learn what voting is and how voting could better the nation’s democracy. Adults should be able to understand there is information materials and tools available to the public.

You are bringing lots of great points. If they can allow 16 year olds to drive,I say they can vote too.
